Lauren Hall has had quite a mixed response from viewers throughout this year’s season of Married At First Sight. The 37-year-old business owner received plenty of support following her disastrous first marriage to Eliot Donovan but has attracted backlash since returning to the experiment as an intruder.

Lauren particularly angered fans during the couples retreat when she called her female co-stars “ferals”, “losers”, “wild animals” and “bogans”. She also said she doesn’t “give a flying bat poo” about their opinions on her relationship with Clint Rice, and specifically called Jamie Marinos a “troll” and Beth Kelly an “ugly mute”.

While Lauren’s storyline continues to develop on the show, one fan recently took to social media to share a throwback photo of the divisive bride looking barely recognisable.

The snap, which was likely taken over a decade ago based on the heavy filter, shows Lauren with a full face of makeup and red lips on a night out with friends.

‘Didn’t recognise her’

Fans quickly took to the comments to say she looks “completely different” compared to her appearance on MAFS, with one person even questioning if the dimples she currently has are “fake”.

“She doesn’t even look like her former self,” another added, while a third said, “Didn’t recognise her”.

“A bit boganic don’t you think?” someone else joked using Lauren’s now-infamous catchphrase.

Meanwhile, others said she’s “still bloody gorgeous” and it’s “not against the law” if she’s changed anything about her appearance since the photo was taken.

“I don’t see anything wrong with this? We all look younger when we were younger,” one fan remarked, followed by a different user who replied, “Looks the same to me but a grown happy woman”.

“She’s gorgeous either way who cares lol almost every woman on MAFS has had plastic surgery or filler,” someone else commented.

Lauren’s catchphrase goes viral

From her sister’s chaotic cameo at her wedding to her recent dinner party boycott, Lauren has generated plenty of talked-about moments this season. None perhaps are as iconic as her made-up term “boganic”, which she’s used to describe Jamie several times on the show.

Although Jamie was furious about the name-calling during filming, she recently told Yahoo Lifestyle that she now wears the term as a badge of honour.

“Honestly, much like ‘fetch’, I think we actually should make it happen,” she said. “I quite like it, it’s actually quite a catchy word. I have no issue, I referred to myself as a boganic bride. I’ll wear that, I don’t give a f**k.”

Jamie also shared that while she caught up with both Rhi Disljenkovic and Carina Mirabile at an unofficial cast reunion in Melbourne last month, she hasn’t had any contact with Lauren since filming the show.

“I don’t think anyone should [communicate with Lauren], save yourself,” she remarked. “She’s obviously got problems. Imagine having a decade on someone and calling them names. Like, this b***h has a decade on me, relax. Name calling and you’re pushing 40? How embarrassing.”
