An Auckland property that was once on The Block has sold for $2.867 million ten years later.

The Point Chevalier property featured on season three of the popular reality show but struggled to sell at the live auction, with contestants Ben and Quinn Alexandre making one of the worst ever profits on the show of $10,000.

Homeowner and Ray White agent Emma Duncan purchased the property nine years ago and has now made a $1.2m profit on the sale.

Throughout her time at the property, Duncan had added a pool, deck and redecorated bedrooms, put in new carpets and ducted central heating.

She said the complete backyard transformation cost her well over $200,000.

“When I looked at the property file after purchasing I found original designs for each block house to have a plunge pool. There was a feature window where a pool had been originally designed to go so it made sense to position it there,” she said.

Duncan said the buyer of the home showed interest in the property two days before the first open home and they made and offer shortly after.

The property was sold by Duncan’s mum, Anne Duncan, of Ray White.
