The Block’s Keith Schleiger has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after an infection spread to his leg.
The fan favourite foreman, 50, shared a photo to Instagram on Monday of himself in a hospital room following the procedure.
He revealed an infection had spread to his entire left leg and he is on antibiotics after having ‘removed the infected components’.
‘Ten years ago I had a full hip replacement. Last Friday I was diagnosed with an infection in that hip and I was rushed in for a 3 hour operation to remove the components that were easy to remove and those components were replaced,’ he began.
‘Unfortunately the infection has spread throughout my whole left leg.’
Keith continued: ‘Since the operation I have been receiving antibiotics intravenously every 8 hours. If the antibiotics don’t work I will have the remaining components removed and basically have another full hip replacement.

‘Fingers crossed the antibiotics beat the infection otherwise I’m in serious trouble.’
Keith’s fans and friends flocked to the comments to wish him well, with one writing: ‘Sending well wishes!’
‘Sending you much love and healing best wishes. I’ve met you a few times over the years and you are a lovely man. Get better soon,’ a second said.
‘OMG Keith. Wishing you a speedy recovery!!! Hope it clears up and you won’t need another replacement,’ former Block stars Mark and Mitch wrote.
‘Praying that this all gets better and a speedy recovery Keith,’ Tanya Guccione said.
It comes after Keith recently he made the difficult decision to step back from The Block after deciding the long commute times to Philip Island to film would keep him away from his two daughters.
‘I couldn’t see a way of seeing my children more than once a week or something like that,’ he told 9Entertainment.
‘I wouldn’t have been able to commute from Melbourne, I would have to live down there. It just didn’t feel it was the right thing to do at the time, I don’t really want to spend three months without them.’

Keith is married to the love of his life, Rebecca, and the couple share daughters, Ebony, 13, and Jasmine, 11.
However, Keith promised that fans would still see a bit of him on the upcoming season, as he will make a brief cameo appearance.
‘It does feel a bit weird not doing The Block so you’ll see me there for about four or five days.’
The 2025 season of The Block will take place in the central Victorian town of Daylesford, and they will reportedly have to use their talents to build their home from the ground up.
