Married At First Sight bride Lauren Hall has shocked viewers by blatantly lying to her husband Clint Rice about her intentions in their marriage.
The drama erupted in Tuesday’s episode at the cast retreat when Lauren, 37, was called out for her ‘snobbish’ behaviour by fellow bride Jamie Marinos, sparking a fiery confrontation.
Tensions came to a head when Lauren’s fellow brides began asking her about her relationship with Clint, 43, and she bluntly refused to answer their questions.
‘You know what? This is so boring, I’m over it!’ Lauren snapped as she stormed out of the room.
Jamie, 28, unsuccessfully tried pleading with Lauren to stay, with: ‘Don’t do this! We have all backed you and you are going to look really silly.’
But the real bombshell came when rumours swirled Lauren was secretly planning to ditch Clint the moment filming wrapped.
Emotions reached a breaking point on Tuesday night’s explosive episode of Married At First Sight when bride Lauren Hall shocked viewers by blatantly lying to her husband Clint Rice in a desperate bid to control the narrative. Both pictured
Groom Dave Hand took it upon himself to warn Clint about his wife’s alleged deception.
‘Lauren was calling out all the other girls on their night and some of the things she said to Jamie were absolutely absurd,’ Dave, 36, told Clint.
‘You need to be aware of what has been happening and what she has been saying about you. She has been saying there is no spark, that she is not interested.
‘We wanted to give you a heads up. She is saying as soon as she steps away from this, it is all going to be over. Play it smart man, it seems you are getting taken for a ride.’
Clint asked Lauren about what she had been saying – only to be met with an astonishing display of gaslighting as she attempted to downplay her reservations.
‘He said you were rude, stringing me along and I’m going to get hurt. That you are going to run away,’ Clint told his wife.
‘It’s all bull***t! I said we are getting along well and seeing how it goes. That’s literally it,’ Lauren began.
‘They are actually just trolls. All mental and bullies.’

Her deception worked and Clint later told the cameras he believed Lauren over his concerned co-stars.
This led to an explosive encounter later on, in which Jamie and Lauren finally confronted each other over the hurtful words.
‘I’m not a bogan!’ Jamie yelled at Lauren and she cheekily responded: ‘I didn’t say you were a bogan. I said you were loud and ‘boganic’.’
It follows shock reports MAFS had became too much for Lauren, who was seriously considering quitting the show after the clash, branding fellow cast members as ‘absolute feral people’.
The corporate gifting business owner found herself at the centre of drama throughout the couples’ retreat.
In explosive scenes aired on Monday night, Lauren and Clint were ‘completely drained’ following a tense group conversation the night before.
‘There is no part of me that wants to go and sit in that group right now,’ Lauren said.
‘Going and sitting in a group of loud people, trying to get a word in on conversations I really don’t even care about—it’s exhausting.’
Tensions then came to a head when Lauren’s fellow brides began asking her about her relationship with Clint, 43, and she bluntly refused to answer their questions
Determined to get to the bottom of the accusations, Clint confronted Lauren – only to be met with an astonishing display of gaslighting as she attempted to downplay her reservations
The conversation initially started with a discussion about Lauren’s stated distaste for any man who does housework, saying that was not an ‘alpha’ trait.
Cast member questioned whether Clint’s reserved nature actually made him an unfit match for Lauren, who wanted a strong, assertive husband.
‘Lauren, do you think there’s a chance maybe Clint is an alpha male, and the fact he’s seeing what you need and compensating in your relationship by doing things that don’t seem as masculine is actually alpha male behaviour?’ one contestant asked.
The bride appeared taken aback by the level of scrutiny.
‘It’s a social experiment, and I feel experimented on. I’m happy to leave now,’ she declared.
As she considered her future on the show, Lauren confided in a co-star, saying Clint had also expressed doubts about continuing in the experiment.
‘Even Clint doesn’t want to do it anymore. Clint is the one that brought it up this morning,’ she revealed.
However, others were not convinced, suggesting Clint was simply trying to support Lauren rather than making a personal decision to quit.
Shockingly, her deception worked and Clint later told the cameras he believed Lauren over his concerned co-stars
‘I feel like he’s such a genuine guy and he wants it to work. And I just feel like you’ve wasted his time a little bit by not trying hard enough,’ one bride hit back.
Despite her frustrations, Lauren ultimately remained in the experiment but made it clear her patience was wearing thin.
‘I just can’t do the relationship chat any longer. I don’t really want to be talking about other people’s relationships, and I don’t really want to be talking about mine,’ she said, despite that being the entire premise of the program.
Clint, on the other hand, appeared torn over the future of their relationship and whether they should continue their journey.
‘I’m here to get to know Lauren and really work on our relationship. But I’m hopeful and positive we’re in a good place to advance our connection,’ he said.
Married At First Sight continues Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
